Prepare

Position

Being a succulent, Kalanchoe prefers a warm, bright position. But keep them out of direct sunlight or the leaves may burn.

Soil

Repot when roots appear at the bottom of the pot. Plant into Kings House Plant Mix.

Care

Watering

Kalanchoe are succulents and have fleshy leaves that store water. They need good drainage and will not tolerate wet feet or sitting in any water. Water well, then allow it to drain well. Allow the soil to dry out then water again. The time between watering will vary depending on light and temperature.

Feeding

To encourage flowers liquid feed with with Kings Liquid House Plant Food.

Protecting

Keep an eye out for Aphids or Mealy Bug, catching them before they multiply makes them easier to control. More so when they are growing outdoors.

Beginner Tip

When using sprays, chemicals or fertilisers always read the label and follow the instructions. Apply sprays in the evening to avoid harming beneficial insects.

Expert Tip

Kalanchoes do well when grown outside. After they have finished flowering indoors place them in a position that is out of the hot sun. They will need some time to adapt to the sun. (Careful the leaves may burn, but the new leaves that come out will be hardened off to the sun).

Tip

Don't mist your Kalanchoe as this may encourage Powdery Mildew.
