Prepare

Position

Place you Callisia in a well lit area, but make sure that sun does not shine directly onto the leaves.

Soil

When growing Callisia plant it into Kings House Plant mix especially designed for indoor plants.

Plant

Repot your Callisia when you see roots growing out the bottom of the pot. Repot into a pot 1 size larger than the one it was in.

Care

Watering

Callisia prefers to be kept moist, do not allow the soil dry out as the leaves may turn brown. Reduce watering according to the temperature. Plants use less water in the cooler months of the year. Ensure that the pot has drainage holes and don't allow the plant does not sit in water.

Feeding

Feed regularly with Kings Liquid House Plant Food, according to the instructions on the packet.

Spraying

If insects become a problem such as aphids or mealy bug then spray with Groventive Garden.

Pruning

Cut plants back if they become leggy or go brown. This will encourage the plant to send out new growth.

General Care

When using sprays, chemicals or fertilisers always read the label and follow the instructions.

Beginner Tip

Callisia is very easy to propagate. Take a cutting and place the cut end into water. Once roots have formed plant your cutting into Kings Potting Mix.
