Plant

Care

Watering

Water and allow the soil to just start to dry out before watering again and never allow your caladium to sit in any water. Increase humidity by misting your caladiums daily.

Feeding

Liquid feed throughout the growing season Spring/Summer with Kings House Plant Food at half strength.

Protecting

When growing outdoors protect against slug and snails.

Spraying

Mites and aphids are usually the main insect that bothers Caladiums. If spraying is needed, spray with Mavrik. When using sprays, chemicals or fertilisers always read the label and follow the instructions. Apply sprays in the evening to avoid harming beneficial insects.

Pruning

Remove any flower spikes that may start to form as they will take the growth away from the leaves.

Beginner Tip

Caladium leaves will turn yellow if the plant is overwatered, underwatered, getting too much light, or experiencing temperature and humidity level stress.

Expert Tip

Caladiums go dormant in the cooler months and die down. They will take a short rest then pop up again when the climate is right.
